Our Citizen Historians and team members undertook an eye-opening and comprehensive day looking at sites of interest relating to the Indian Army on the Western Front.

These included two Indian Army grave sites, the moving memorial at Neuve Chappelle, the Menin Gate, which includes thousands of Indian names, and the site of the remarkable action of Jackie Smyth of the 15th Ludhiana Sikhs, where he gained his VC and almost all his ten Sikh supermen lost their lives.
