26 miles and 385 yards...4 hours, 26 minutes and 12 seconds...seven months hard training...several buckets of sweat, 76 donations and a whopping £5,223.98 raised so far for the Sikhs and World War One project!! What an effort Hardeep!!

Congrats to Hardeep Bath for his awesome achievement - and for making it into the Daily Mirror!

But it's not over yet! Hardeep needs another £2,776.02 to reach his target of £8,000. If everyone who reads this post were to donate a mere £3 - the price of a large cup of coffee - Hardeep would easily reach his target!

So please help remember the Sikhs of World War One and donate here.

If you need any more motivation to do so here's Hardeep's awesome take on how Sikh heritage kept him motivated to reach the finishing line:

Thanks to GT1588 for providing me with all those stories of our ancestors.

When I was flagging, I had to remind myself of Baba Gurbakhsh Singh who led the battle of just 30 Nihangs against 30,000 Afghans...or when Sukha Singh went into Darbar Sahib and took Massa Rangar's head...or when the Sikhs fought leaderless in the Anglo Sikh wars, how they carried on, many wounded, limbs missing and fatigued - what would have they said when they were flagging?!

I used all these stories to keep me going - and it's thanks to all of you for providing me with the inspiration, and strength to carry on when I wanted to stop.

The memory of what my ancestors went through also helped me get up early on Sunday mornings for those long runs when there was snow, sub zero temperatures all through December through to late March.
