Sikh Faces of the First World War: A Double Volunteer.

Jemadar Hardit Singh was born on 14 August 1889 and enrolled as a Sapper on 14 August 1907.

Promoted to Naik in July 1915, Havildar in December 1917 and Jemadar in January 1925.

Transferred to the Pension Establishment in 1931, he re-enlisted in December 1940 after India joined the Second World War and was posted to a Training Battalion.

He was discharged on 13 December 1942.
