Today the world remembers the 70th anniversary of the atomic bomb dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on 6 August 1945.

Pictured are Sikh soldiers in the city of Hiroshima surveying the devastation visited on that city. They were part of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force that occupied Japan shortly after the surrender of Japan to the Allies.
