We were really honoured to receive the family of John Smyth who was awarded a VC with the 15th Ludhiana Sikhs.
They are pictured here on a special guided tour that included watching a short film of the action of their ancestor, who later became a brigadier and was knighted. They were also shown some fabulous photographs and saw, for the first time, the medal that was awarded to Lal Singh, the Sikh sepoy who made it back to the trench with John Smyth after his epic action. Here, they look at an album of the 15th Ludhiana Sikhs that is currently on display.
With only 17 days to go - get down to the exhibition this weekend when we have a fabulous symposium and musical performance on Sunday and guided tours and 12 and 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
